The possibilities with Left 4 Dead are limitless. After all, during a zombie apocalypse anything is possible. Imagine in the next L4D game you start off as the Midnight Riders and your objective is to not only survive, but to make it to the next concert.

If you dont know about the Midnight Riders easter egg in The Passing then I suggest you search youtube for the video and you will see a Midnight Riders van drive by during Part II of The Passing. It is unknown who is inside the van. It could be all four members of the band, only a couple, or some other random people such as fans or roadies. The point being, somebody made it out of Dark Carnival other than the main characters. Having this little easter egg in place gives Valve a nice story to tie into L4D3. The first Left 4 Dead 3 campaign could begin with that same Midnight Rider van which got away, running out of gas at some point. Another possibility could be one of the campaigns is at the Dark Carnival concert and they too must escape.

Anything is possible with the next Left 4 Dead 3. Nobody really knows, we may see a completely new setting with entirely brand new characters as we did with L4D2. If Valve does decide to tie together part of Left 4 Dead 3 with Left 4 Dead 2, as we saw with the L4D 2 characters meeting the original survivors, then using the Midnight Riders characters is the obvious bet. Or, Valve could throw us for a loop and L4D3 may be completely different from what we expect.

If Valve wants to keep to their word and continue to release DLC for the current Left 4 Dead games, then a new set of campaigns featuring the Midnight Riders would be nice.

The sound track to a new DLC pack or L4D3 could be the best yet.

Valve could actually announce at E3 2010, the new Left 4 Dead 3 game in Los Angeles. It would be the perfect place for a presentation, including Left 4 Dead 3 videos and screenshots.

Left 4 Dead 2 was announced only months after the first game was released and it hit the store shelves nearly 1 year after the first game. This news caused quite a stir because fans thought the content in the sequel should have been included in the original game, or given to us as part of the many DLC updates promised to us.

It only makes sense for Valve to release Left 4 Dead 3 because this series is a hot franchise and a pure money making machine. It is possible we could see L4D 3 by the end of 2010 and who knows, it may happen. I doubt we will see the 3rd installment this year because I could only imagine the outcry there would be if Valve released L4D 3 a year after the sequel and three years after the first. Plus, its not common for Valve to release so many follow-ups so quickly. Heck, people are still waiting for Half-life 2 Episode 3. Could we really expect L4D 3 to hit the shelves in 2010? No. November 2011 is a more realistic release date for Left 4 Dead 3 with an announcement of its release coming in the spring.
