Is there any place I could get a modded controller for $40 maybe $50 that works well?

Also...where can I buy different shells for an xbox controller?

Thanks!

It doesn't really matter how many modes it needs to have maybe atleast 6 or 5

Ebay is your best bet. They have the widest range of modded controllers.

Well, if you're looking for the cheapest, best mods... go SilentModz. Their best 5 mode controller with 35 diff speeds is only 130 stock. Theirs go as low as $60 if you dont care about jitter. Evil controllers are a bit more expensive, and not as good as SilentModz.

-SilentModz + Fastest on the market, cheap, mine hasnt broken since COD6 started
-SilentModz - Take FOREVER to ship (about 3 weeks) and I've heard about broken/incorrect shipments. Their customer service sucks too.

-Evil + Great customer service, DECENT mods, cheap-ish ($20 more than Silent on average)
-Evil - Not that fast (good jitter though) Evil's fast speed is like Silent's slow speed.

So, if you're willing to wait for your controller... I would go Silent modz. It pretty much sums up to the fact that Silent has garbage customer service, and Evil's controllers arent as quick.

Oh, and dont use ebay unless you've used it before. People advertise their controllers as "Works great on COD6!!!!!!111!!!1!" and then they sell you a COD4 mod that kind of works on MW2. I would stay away from ebay.
