right... well, two things,
1. Do you have another controller you may be able to try out, just to see if your controller's wireing has been somehow alterd (happend to me once)
2. You may have to go to system settings, memory remove it all, then re - update from the beginning, so once removing it all, open cod 4 and you will have to update, message back BEFORE you try option 2

STEP 1: check controls
step 2: if it didnt work try dif infections
step 3:if that didnt work then you might need to completely romove the game off your harddrive and restart the whole thing.
step 4: omg its confusing

Theres one thing you could try, but you need a modded gamertag account on your xbxo to be able to do it

TTG spark, with the last update they patched modded gamertags, and also, my friend has a jtag who will be able to remove it for you (100% safe) so, what time is it where you are now? it's 1:51am british time right now for me...

okay, well.. i can't do it right now, because my xbox is downstairs, but message me on xbox (gt:B A N K S I E x)
and we'll see tommorow, but before you do, have you tried a second controller?
does it do it in split screen?
does it do it in campaign?
try inserting a different disc and going online on that, then try cod4 again,
