One more thing, when you are trying to place your shortcuts on the shelf, or anywhere else on the background, they may not go to exactly the right place, they will "snap to grid" To get around this problem, right click your desktop, on the drop down menu, hover over view and make sure "align to grid" or "snap to grid" is not selected. This should allow you to move your shortcuts wherever you want. Finally, to get rid of the text under the shortcut, you can right click the shortcut, click rename and press ALT then on the numbers on the side of your keyboard, press 255. ALT+255 is basically a blank charicter, this allows you to get rid of the annoying text on shortcuts.
