Did you tweak your weapon parts? If so, the weapons are probably considered invalid by the game and removed.

Just out of curiosity, can the same thing WillowTree does be done with hex editor applications, such as Cheat Engine? Of course I would prefer to use this app over it, as it is much more refined in its GUI, but I am speaking in theory.

In addition, (as it is still unclear to me after reading the FAQs) based on what you say, you can't apply custom weapons into Borderlands if it's patched to 1.3? I suppose my follow-up question would be 'Why are there still modded weapons then?'

No... it just doesn't like your save for some reason. You probably have more than 2147483647 cash or no echo logs (if you just started the game).
