My rant

I understand why this bill could be put into place. It is because some companies are tired of people having, walkthroughs, modding tutorials, glitches and whatever. Gaming companies want players to do what the game is intentonal use was. To play it fair! They dont want people showing how to mod or show how to earn special things. I would get tired of having to fix every issue because its ruining a game. Think about this, how many times have you gone into a cod4 game, and have it be modded in any way. Whether it is text, super speed, unlimited ammo, whatever! Streaming videos of games have not only ruined how we play games, but how we dont play it. People make a video on how to mod instant 10th prestige, Bam! You got thousands of players that are 10th that didnt earn it! They have to fix this. So they put time, effort, and money into fixing this, just for others to make a new way to get around it. Honestly, if you were a designer and millions of people played it, i would get frustrated if i had to continue fixing things just so people could play the game in its original intention.

Why may it get passed?

There is a very simple reason that it can get passed. Power! Microsoft and sony are the owners of the 2 most popular consoles on the market right now! No one likes wii anyways xD. If microsoft or sony want something to change, they have 10 times the power that the owners of the Wii do. Think of it this way. Person "A" (microsoft) and person "B" (sony) want the streaming of videos of games to cease. What do they do? They get a bill passed to stop it! Now if person A and person B both agree to it, there is a big chance that it will get passed. Now say person "C" (nintendo) want videos to continue. Who would you listen to? For some reason our country (U.S.) listens to the more powerful people. If your not smart enough to comprehend that, thank think of it this way. Drinker and smoker both agree to have a bill passed for being able to smoke in ALL restraunts again. While healthy person says "NO" to this idea. He presents his few facts of health issues. Drinker and smoker say " more people will spend money and make our economy booming again ". Now who would you listen to? The drinkers and smokers (microsoft and sony) or the healthy person (nintendo)? My whole point is that, we listen to people who are smarter, more powerful and wealthier. Not the dumb, least powerful and poor people. Now many people would like videos to keep being posted on the internet. But do you really think that congress will listen to the people who screwed up most games by cheating? The answer: No! They listen to the powerful people!

Why this may not be passed

Simply because of how many places will complain! Youtube will lose sooo much by having to remove all gaming videos! Any other gaming places TTG,s7ensins,justinTV, and anywhere else will say no to this bill! Simply because of how much traffic and attention these videos bring! Gaming videos will often get thousands of views, some get millions! Thats alot of people! By removing all these "million video hits" or "hot videos" you will also lose those who only watch gaming videos!

Conclusion: There is an equal chance of it being accepted and it being declined!

I just gave you +1 rep, you couldnt be more right with this situation, we need more people to start thinking like this, thinking it wont pass is ignorant because our government has done some stupid things in the past (making pot illegal, slavery, alcohol prohibition, etc...) but if you see this as a threat start raising eyebrows and get people to start speaking their minds because I refuse to live in a country that is so heavily controlled by the government
