First, please don't flame this thread. If you have something to say, or you want to state your opinion, don't make stuff up, use facts. And, secondly, yes, I am the same guy that posted the "What does the CoD community think of Battlefield" thread that all you CoD lovers enjoyed so much.
I'm back here posting again because I was annoyed by the ignorance of most of the people that posted on my previous thread. There was A LOT of stuff posted that was absurd. So now I'm going to show anyone who fully reads this post, that Battlefield 3 will be most likely a better built game than Modern Warfare 3.
Frostbite 2 vs. id tech 3
-For those of you that don't know what that title up there means, those are the engines of BF3 and MW3. Frostbite 2=BF3, and id Tech 3=MW3. As some of you might know, the frostbite 2 engine was just recently created for the purpose of running Battlefield 3. The engine was a complete overhaul of Frostbite 1, previously found in the Bad Company. id Tech 3 engine was used first in Quake 3 Arena, which I'm pretty sure was released in 2004, the engine itself was released in 2005. There's a trailer for it below, and thats basically all there is to be known about it.
I have yet to see a trailer for the Modern Warfare 3 engine, or any real info on the MW3 engine, I'll edit it into this post. The only info released was a twitter by an IW dev that said changes would be made to the engine.
Multiplayer (the important part)
Battlefield 3 has released a short tease of their multiplayer, and so far it has received great reviews. The multiplayer gameplay can be seen here:
So far: Modern Warfare 3 has released no multiplayer gameplay, and only campaign excerpts.
The gameplay that they have released is here:
More gameplay was released, I just cant seem to find it. I'll scour the interwebz and post it here as soon as possible.
E3
So usually, game developers at E3 will debut the best of what they have of their game, and show it to the world. At E3 IW and Sledgehammer games debuted two clips of gameplay, which, according to most people's opinion, even CoD fans, looks extremely similar to it's prequel, Modern Warfare 2. The gameplay from E3 I posted above, so you can go see that. On the other hand, Battlefield 3 looks much better so far, at least according to E3, because BF3 got the "Best Shooter" award. During E3 a lot of footage was shown, multiplayer and singleplayer. Here is some of the footage shown:
Campaign Trailer
Thunder Run Campaign Gameplay
Fault Line Campaign Gameplay
I hope this has opened your eyes a little bit, or maybe not. But if you have seen the light, then check out this video, it will help you get started.
