I have two jtags here, both Xenons. One was working like a champ, but I updated a plugin in Freestyle Dash and after it was rebooted I got e79. I can not read or write to it as I get Programming Error when trying to do either. I have tried to erase the nand by shorting the pins, with no success. It just turns on, and says e79. Useless.

I have another Xenon Jtag that was running just fine, but overheated. I did the rrod xclamp replacement with the proper bolts and stainless steel and nylon washers, also using AS5 thermal. I played it last night for about 4 hours with no problems. I turned it on today, and had it on pause for about 15 minutes and got rrod.

So I'm having some persistent issues with both of my Jtags, and it just makes me miss my Zephyr that much more. My Zephyr was champ and never gave me issues. I traded it for a ps3 one day and I haven't seen it since. Anybody have any advice on what to do with both of these jtags? I really want one that is a tank/beast/reliable. Both of these Xenons are frustrating me to the point of selling them, but I'm not sure yet. I just want them to work!

Well, I know for sure all the connections are soldered in perfectly fine, as I'm using the nand-pro kit from Team Xecuter. I hook it up and run the jtag tool, and it definitely finds the console, but when I try reading the blocks I get error. If I try to rewrite my updflash or my original nand.bin, I get programming error. That's all it says, and it says it for every single block. I really can't understand how a freestyle dash plugin could e79 it beyond repair. I have tried looking up info on this and can't find anything.

The other one with persistent rrod I checked the secondary error code and it's 0001-meaning I need to use a different psu. This is a friend's power supply as I have his 360 here for a repair, and I guess this explains why his doesn't work also lol-I'll update as soon as I try another power supply.

EDIT: I changed the power supply and the one jtag works great-now I'm still stuck on that first one though

Do you have the Diodes soldered in properly, making sure nothing is touching something not necessary?

You could always try to do it the resistors way, instead of diodes, but I suggest doing that as a last resort.

Well, the problem is the nand won't seem to erase or allow me to read or write from it or to it. I can't seem to do anything with it. It was a freestyle dash plugin update that has corrupted my dashboard-I don't know how to revert this, or get it fixed. It's frustrating lol-I don't think the diodes, resistors, or connections have anything to do with it as I've checked and even replaced these things after I received the error. It has changed nothing. I'm thinking I would have to somehow erase the nand (I've tried shorting out the pins, but it doesn't seem to have changed anything) so that I can just reflash the nand with the updflash.bin. But I just don't know...

try to extract the kv first before u read and write and if that doesnt work then u may be missing some drivers for that version of jtag tool so just reinstall and make sure u get no errors when u install and always run jtag tool as administrator

try using nandpro2b from the command line ( nandpro usb: -w16 updflash.bin ) to write your previously working nand and make sure you have a jumper between the pc chassis and motherboard ground
