I'm assuming parties aren't blocked so try restarting your modem and your xbox (both of you)

try a private chat or reastart your xbox or ask him to restart his

it might be your nat type. but try reseting router.

Its ur NAT type, like OPEN , MODERATE, STRICT, you must figure out what eachothers are and change one or the other to be similar to connect, thats all it is + Rep PLOX

Try turning the router off and wait 30 seconds and then turn it back on and wait 1 min
Try going into router configuration
Try going to system settings network settings and test xbl connection
And if none of them work then try going onto a game that tells you your NAT type if it's open and his is open then you should be able to connect. If yours is moderate or strict then you cant connect to you but its vice versa.

1. Both of you disconnect your routers, and wait 30 seconds.

2. Turn them on, and test your Xbox Live Connection. At the end
of the test it'll tell you whether you're "Moderate" or "Strict."
If it's "Open" (This is what you want) no pop-up will appear and
the problem may be fixed. So try to reconnect to one anothers' party.

3. If you still can't connect, simply Google "Enable UPNP and NAT on
----- router." So if you have a Belkin, Linksys, or Netgear put it where
the dashes are, and search for your make of router and then follow the
steps they provide you and then try to test your Xbox live connection.



If a dialogue doesn't doesn't appear after the test, you should be able to
connect after that, if not Private Message me and I'll give you more help.

Just try Sign in And Sign out and try again or restart your router and check your nat type that can affect it
