Yea thats what we all do at my school when one of us buys maps we just recover the maps....like when the mw2 maps come out its sadly my turn to download them....

recovering the tag doesnt work it will stop working once he logs off its not licensed to ur name so it will still say buy map pack it will be deleted after u log on to your name u need to do a gamertag transfer on the internet but you can only do it once a year and it takes awhile plus u lose everything on your harddrive and its replaced by your friends its better to just by the map pack and get over it
