Hello, this is a tutorial that i got off of Xbox 360 iso .com All credit goes to Artee on Xbox 360 ISO.com. Although I have made it a little bit clearer and use a switch for mine, The ideas and tutorial go to him. I didnt see anything like this on TTG so I thought I would help you all out!

First off,
Things you need:
-20-50cm of wire
-an object with a small pointy head, Like a sewing needle or a screw driver thing.
-Scissors
-a SATA cable(you can just unplug the SATA cable that is in your DVD-ROM drive in your computer and plug it into your drive, no need to go to radioshack)
-Steady hands
-A light switch
Making the Probe:
Step 1: Take your wire and cut off the rubber around both ends about 4 or 5 cm, so the inside of the wire is exposed.
Step 2: Take one end and wrap it around the metal part of your sharp point object.
Congratulations! You just saved 40$!
Next you want to take the end of your probe that isnt attacked to the pointy thing and wrap the end around one of the holes on your xboxes metal frame, this grounds the probe.
Now this is how you save even more money, Take the other cord out of your DVD drive and look at the front of it.

Find cord number 6 and cut it in two right in the middle of it, then cut off a little bit of the rubber from both sides. Attach these two ends to your light switch like this(Excuse my paint skills)

Congratulations! you saved 40 more dollars not having to buy a connectivity kit!
Now here is the hard part....
Flashing your drive
Take the bottem off of your drive and look at the Board in it. Look around untill you find the MPX01 pin on the board.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Now turn off your PC, and hook everything up, to be clear
Drive>cord with the switch>Xbox>wall
PC>SATA>Drive.
Then power on your PC and your Xbox.
Open up Jungle flasher and click on the DVDKey 32 tab.
Open up the I/O Port list and try all of the options until you see your drive in the "Drive Properties" section.
Take a deep breath and press the PhatKey button.
You should get a warning, press ok with your probe hovering over the MPX01 pin.
Then, turn your switch to the off position, put your probe on MPX01, then turn your switch onto the on position, while still holding the probe there. This can be tough so if it doesnt work keep trying. a Little box should pop up, You can now take the probe off, you wont need it again.
now dont click OK on the box that popped up after the last step, Flip your switch to the off posistion, wait 5 seconds, then turn it back on. Then press ok. If you fail try everything over from the first part. timing is cruicial for this one.
when you succeed JungleFlasher will ask you to save your important files somewhere, Save ALL of them to a folder somewhere safe, THESE ARE IMPORTANT!!!!!!
when you have saved all of your keys go to the "FirmwareTool32" tab and click "Open Source Firmware" Choose the Dummy.bin file you just got. Click no on the popup that Jungleflasher gives you asking to put the Ixtreme blah blah blah. Press no and click on "Open Target Firmware" Then Choose the LT+ 1.9 Firmware, and click "Spoof Source to Target" Then save it by pressing "Save to File"
Congradulations! The hard part is over!
Last Step:
go to the "MTK Flash 32" Tab and press Lite-On Erase
youll get a warning, Press OK, Youll Get another warning, press OK and when there is a line of running dots in the log, press the power button on your xbox, wait for it to power down completely, then press the button again.
Then you push "Intro/Device ID" You will get a message, when you press ok turn your switch off then wait half a second, then turn it back on.
Some info should appear and it should say status 0x72 and in Vendor under "drive properties" it should say Vendor Mode.
Now press the Write button, Wait until it finished and checks that everything is OK.
Now press the "Outro/ATA Reset" button. Now you just need to turn off your xbox, take out the SATA cord and put your xbox togerther again. There you go! Enjoy your newly flashed Xbox 360! [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Nope im pretty sure there is only one version. The one in the old 360s is the phat one, and the one in the new slim 360s is the slim one. simple as that.

So does that mean that once you do it, you need to put the lightswitch into your 360 aswell or can you just untie the wire and wrap the two ends back together again? Thanks in advance if this actually works, could be a huuge help for me!
And so this method doesn't require you open the drive at all to halfway or anything?
