Gravedigging:
"When someone posts on a very old thread on a forum, it is called gravedigging." -http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Gravedigging
Gravedigging is a rule on TTG and I see it happen a lot in threads.
Usually people will go to dead threads to comment and get their post count up.
I would say a thread dies in the time frame of a week after the last post.
-Edit: I also just realized I posted this in the wrong forum.
Do try to keep the flame to a minimum while I contact a moderator to move this.
