Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward decided to include a color-blind option in the latest Call of Duty game. This addition was first included in Call of Duty Black Ops and according to a recent blog entry at Sledgehammer Games' website, the developer will feature a color-blind assist option in Call of Duty modern warfare 3 as well.


This is what can be read at Sledgehammer Games official site:

Research suggests that as much as 6% of the general population suffers from Color Blindness, or more accurately Color Vision Deficiency. Men (9-12%) are 20x more likely to be afflicted than women (0.25-1%). Those numbers vary depending on which source you quote, but we estimate that nearly a million gamers are playing Call of Duty every day with this issue. I am happy to report that we are working on a Color Blind Assist option for modern warfare 3.

As most of you probably know, Modern Warfare 3 is an upcoming first person shooter game. The title represents the third installment in the Call of Duty series and itll come out for the PC, playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Additionally, mw3 will be the first game to support Call of Duty: Elite, a social online service created by Activision. Elite will be a subscription-based service for the multiplayer portion of the game similar to Battle.net and Bungie.net. Several social-networking features will be included and the beta will be available on July 14, 2011 for Black Ops.

I dont remember there being a color blind option in black ops, but maybe i just missed it or something...
