Before World at War was released there was a multiplayer beta which helped Treyarch fix a number of issues before the game arrived in stores. Therefore, it only seems reasonable that Black Ops would too receive the beta treatment. Please note that this article is pure speculation and no beta is official unless confirmed by Treyarch and Activision.

It appears that a few beta codes for Black Ops have been "leaked". It seems that a group of hackers called "Team DX Coders" have found a bunch of codes for the Black Ops beta, these are the same group of hackers that also leaked keys for the Halo Reach beta before a beta was even announced.



" They were in the same place we found Halo’s ones, more or less. Microsoft isn’t being too careful to hide the keys, but we expect that to change in the future. For now we will do the same thing we did with Reach, keep the keys under wraps until the Beta is fully announced, then share them. ~ Team DX Coders"

A beta is given to a selection of people in order to gain valuable feedback of which will improve the game before it is finished and dispatched to retailers. If there is a Black Ops beta, then we assume that codes will be given to users on the official Black Ops website » as well as to community and press websites for giveaways.
