if you want to connect to xbox live using a dongle, you need a laptop or your computer close to your xbox 360, plug the dongle into the laptop or computer and connect it, then use your ethernet cable and connect it to the xbox 360 and the pc, and you have you connect but xbox cannot use the internet just yet.
after that, go into control panel, network connections, and click your dongle internet (mines 3connect so i click that), right click it and go into properties, click on the advanced tab and tick the box next to
'allow other network users to connect through this computers internet connect'and then try to connect to live, if it doesnt work try testing the connection. if this helped +REP and thank the topic, it would be greatly aprecciated

a dongle is a modern or whatever its called you connect through your computer through a USB, you can use it wherever you want it usually has a sim card in it with a number of credit or 'uses' like 15gb of internet, useful if you have like a netbook that you take around with you.
