Now that the Halo: Reach Multiplayer Beta is officially over, Bungie will be hard at work analyzing the masses of data that they received from players and tweaking things for the final release in roughly four months. As with all beta tests, many players reported bugs they came across during play or pointed out things that they felt were imbalanced. With well over ten million games played, there was certainly a lot of proposed fixes but one feature that Bungie implemented in the Reach Beta that drew an exceptionally large amount of criticism on their feedback forum( [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) was the so-called "Quit Ban."

The way this "ban" works is that if you quit out a certain amount of games, you are automatically put on a week long probation period by the system. If you quit out of another game during that period, you are temporarily banned from matchmaking for fifteen minutes (and most likely restarts your probation timer). It isn't known how many games you have to leave to trigger the probation period, but many users on the Bungie forums have reported receiving a Quit Ban for leaving just one game. Sometimes, they didn't even leave but were disconnected or booted out for a betrayal. It seems now players will have to really watch their friendly fire or risk having their day of Halo ended prematurely by an accident.

wow thats absolutly brutal, i dont play halo probably never will just not my cup of tea but banning poeple for quitting is retarded, what if im playing and all of a sudden my power goes out from a thunderstorm, or if i Have a family emerg and ihave to goto the hostiple or something, I dont think its right to put one of these ban's on a video game, its a hobby not a job, if i dont feel like playing i shouldn't be punished because i quit the game. How about they put all of Bungie's jobs up for grabs if they dont beat MW2 sales and see what they say.

Untill u want to quit one day, a Video game is a hobby not a job, If i want to jump into a match while im waiting for my friend to call me to go out, i should be able to jump into a match and leave when i want, Mabye make a playlist like this where uc ant quit or something, but dont make it for every game that is just retarded, go out and pay 80$ for a game and then find out YOU have play the whole thing or you are going to get a ban or suspension after spending YOUR 80$ on YOUR hobby.

Halo isn't MW2, you can't join mid0game. They wouldn't make it one game and you get suspended, more like 10 or 15 or more. I think they mainly did this to stop those boosters with -xp.
