i have seen many consoles melted from the towl trick.

you probably melted your jtag wires or something. double check those

Unplug everything and leave it for a few hours to sit. Then plug in everything very firmly and make sure it is okay.

the fact that you say you get E79 when you write xell clearly shows that it's your JTAG wiring that was messed up after the qtip thing

unless his jtag wires are touhing the heatsyncs then no way Qtip trick can melt jtag wires. the console turns off at 100 degrees. ( i know this because i have unplugged the fan and let my jtag overheat til i saw 2 red lights and kept watching the temp on FSD)
it doesnt even get hot enuf to melt the solder balls under the chip. all it realy does is warms up the board alittle so the ban connection between the chip and mobo realign for a while til it cools and separates again.

who knows, maybe he soldered weak points on the jtag wires to where when heated up they broke off or something. why else would xell e79

screw zephyrs. mine won't power up after a bad flash and i would recommend a xenon over a zephyr anytime now. lol
