Wow, you actually clicked on this. That means one of two things:

1. You've come here to flame my post without even reading it because you love Call of Duty! It's the best game ever isn't it?

2. You're a little unsure about Call of Duty, maybe your starting to think it is going into a downfall. You want to hear what I have to say, maybe I'm right?

Well, if your STILL reading this, your probably in the second, more intelligent group. I'm not going to bore you any further, so without any more delay:

When did you begin playing Call if Duty, Call of Duty 2? That's when I started playing. Maybe your not THAT much of a hardcore player, maybe your in the CoD 4 area. That was a great game, definitely in the top 10 best video games ever. But, maybe, your reading this and you didn't start playing Call of Duty since, Modern Warfare 2. The horror! Now don't be alarmed, if you happen to be in the latest group that's OK. Maybe that's jut when you decided to pick up a Call of Duty game. But maybe, it might be because you got the game for, CHRISTMAS! Oh what a great Christmas present Daddy! This game looks super duper! I can kill bad guys! I can go in planes! I can nuke people! AWESOME! If your reaction was something like that, then chances are your a zombie. Yes, that's right, a zombie. How? I'll tell you! *Disclaimer* If this doesn't apply to you, as in, you didn't have that reaction or something similar, or MW2 wasn't your first Call of Duty game, you don't need to read this. However, if you had a reaction similar to this when you bought MW2, then keep reading. When you got Modern Warfare 2, you were high on awesomeness, right? That game was the coolest! You thought(or maybe still think) that that's the best game ever. Maybe your friends tried to show you some other games such as: Battlefield, Halo, Gears of War, or other great titles. You also might have noticed that you were really good at Modern Warfare 2, virtually right when you picked up the controller. If it was your first FPS, you might have struggled with the controls, but for the most part, you were a BEAST at Modern Warfare 2. Pwning n00bs, getting Tactical Nukes, getting 1337 360 nosc0pes across the map. It might not have ever occurred to you that this game is easy, or built for people to be able to pick the game up and be a descent player virtually instantly. Did it occur to you that the game is addicting, as in VERY addicting? Like, you can't stop playing because you want to get that next attachment, challenge, or title/emblem. All of this has contributed to your possible status as a zombie. You like CoD and that's the only game you like. If you're unwilling to try any other game, or even listen to talk about other games. Maybe your so deep into being a zombie that you don't like people talking bad about YOUR GAME. Either way, if your a zombie, your blinded, and can't see any other point of view besides, "I LIKE COD, ALL OTHER GAMES SUCK!" Most of these "zombies" are preteen boys. Nothing against that age group, however kids of that age tend to lean toward that. Being a zombie is only bad when your not open-minded enough to try new things. That's fine if you like Call of Duty, just listen to what people like me have to say.

So now hopefully we've established who is a zombie and who is not. Now, if your not a zombie, if you can think clearly, then what is below is written for you. Call of Duty hasn't made significant changes to their series since 2007. Wow, what a statement, that's going to cause some flame! Hopefully your smart enough to keep reading and see why I just said that seemingly untrue statement. Think about the jump from Call of duty 2, to Call of Duty 4. Modern Warfare, gun attachments, killstreaks, perks, custom classes. There's a lot to list, I'm not going to go through it, but you have the main idea. Call of Duty 4 is the core. Every Call of Duty game ahead of it is roughly based on it. World at War had virtually nothing new to offer, sure there's tanks, but that's about it. The killstreaks like dogs, were just a replacement of the Attack Helicopter from Call of Duty 4. You can't go putting a chopper in WWII now can you. Zombies mode by Treyarch was brilliant by the way. Props to the group that made Call of Duty zombies, its amazing. You guys are brilliant, and you're the only reason I still own Black Ops. Please continue making great maps, my favorite was Ascension. ;) Anyway, back on topic. Modern Warfare 2, the heavy hitter, brought along some customizable killstreaks, pro perks, and more attachments for more guns. But besides that, no new changes to the fundamental gameplay. It's still the same. Run around, get a few kills and die. Or camp and get large killstreaks. No new engine, no new mechanics, NOTHING TRULY NEW. Nothing changed, but Modern Warfare 2 was much worse than any other Call of Duty game? How? It was easier. Now how is that bad? How is a game being easier make it bad. That's bad, because now EVERYONE can be good at Call of Duty. There are no bad people, only good people. And these new "good" players found it very fun to sit in a corner and get kills, or use the most powerful weapons in the game ALL THE TIME. They didn't play legitimately, like the players before this did. But that's still not bad. What's bad is the fact that the game is built for camping. Stacking killstreaks, camping, panic knifing. All of this is VERY easy, and built for anyone to be able to do it, and feel like they are good at a game, when in fact, compared with the average population of the players, is only average. If you fell into the trap, as in, you felt you were good at MW2, don't feel bad. I felt the same way. I'm a former PC gamer. I played lots of games including Battlefield and Call of Duty, the only reason I moved to consoles was because my computer wasn't powerful enough to run all the new games. So, as i was saying, I played Modern Warfare 2 religiously. Then I started to notice some obvious flaws, the game was/is junk. I got essentially addicted to Modern Warfare 2, thinking it was a great game, but then realized what happened. Infinity Ward got me. And they got a lot of other people to play this game, for many, many hours. They built Call of Duty to make money. Which is fine, they're a company, they try to make money. However, they made money by making a crappy game. Which really angers me. By adding "new" cool stuff, they attracted many more, previously very casual gamers. Gamers that were suddenly very good at FPS games. So in summary, MW2 is a crappy game, but you have to play it for awhile to notice it. So, lets skip ahead. Black Ops. Yes, Treyarch, I went there. I was assured that Black Ops would turn from the awful ways of Modern Warfare 2. Perhaps they could restore the balanced gameplay and fun I once knew. As soon as Black Ops was released, I got on it! I loved that game for a solid month and a half. It seemed very balanced. Few outstanding flaws. Still with some annoyances, but overall very good. Right? No. Black Ops, while it had some minor changes, was just like MW2. Same play style, same mechanics, same formula, same engine. Pretty much the same game with a different skin. A few new guns, maybe a new perk or two. But that's it. People haven't realized that ever since Call of Duty 4, they've been buying the same game with minor altercations. Now Modern Warfare 3 comes out with all new..umm. Wait what is new in Modern Warfare 3? NOTHING. Compare Modern Warfare 2 and 3 trailers. Eerily similar right. They looks A LOT alike. In fact, most Call of Duty games look a lot alike. Like, almost ALL of them. Think about it, you'll start to understand what I'm saying. Don't look at it from a CoD player's perspective. Look at it unbiased. You will see what I mean if you do, I guarantee it. But wait. Why change a winning formula right? I mean, Call of Duty sells so many copies, its always worked. It's played by a million people almost everyday. Why change what's already successful. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Right? Wrong.

Thing is, Call of Duty isn't a winning formula. It's a broken formula. It's overused. It's poorly used. Selling copies means nothing for a game. Only that it's developers and producers marketed the game very well. That's it. Well, why do so many people play it? Back to the zombie thing. They haven't really tried anything else. So all they know is the addicting gameplay, and seemingly rewarding experience that Call of Duty has to offer. In reality, Call of Duty devs pump out the same trash every year with minor changes. This enrages their hardcore community, whether they realize it or not. Call of Duty has been running of the same core engine since Call of Duty 2. Think I'm wrong? Look it up. Pretty sure it's called the idTech3 engine. Not quite sure though. But annyyyyway. My point is that Call of Duty has been declining, and maybe people should start looking for alternatives.

Even if your satisfied with Call of Duty. Even with it's flaws you still like it. That's fine. However, you should be open-minded about other games. It's little kids, the "zombies" that really bother me. They can't play any other game besides Call of Duty. When someone asks them about other games, they respond immaturely my saying things like Gaylo, or Battlefails. Lame. I don't like Call of Duty anymore because it's deteriorating as a series. And I'll explain it even deeper if you would like. I hate that series now because it produces bad game, and it sells well, and people somehow like it. But chances are you guys don't want to hear that.

You want me to tell you that weapons like the Famas, Galil, AK-74u, and Commando in BO aren't overpowered, just overused. Killstreaks are balanced. Ghost is not a problem. Black Ops is a balanced well-built game. Those statements are untrue. Pure fact. Don't believe me? Think again. Look at your most deaths. Chances are those four guns I mentioned are VERY high up on the list. If not THE highest on the list. If you already use the guns mentioned above, you'll deny their imbalance. However to someone who doesn't use those guns very often, it's obvious. The Famas can get kills fast, at any range. The Galil is a laser. The 74u is just plain too powerful. And the Commando deals too much damage for it's low recoil. There you go, not just me saying this, it's most of your hardcore community, or what's left of it.

If your getting bored of Call of Duty, try the Battlefield or Halo games. They're lots of fun. Thing is, it's gonna take work to get good. Maybe a week to really get a handle on the feel of these games. But, if your a zombie, then smack yourself in the head with a hammer, and gain some IQ.

Alternative

The games that I recommend you play, I don't recommend them because I'm a "hater". I used to LOVE Call of Duty. I've played every game, but lately the series has been ruined so I'm moving on. Call of Duty strives to be a super fun, realistic FPS game. Battlefield also attempts the same thing. Problem with Call of Duty is that it doesn't even come close. Call of Duty is one of the most unrealistic games I've ever played. Battlefield, is freaking intense. Some of you were scared away by the 30 FPS comment by DICE. Saying the BF3 will run on 30FPS for consoles. But I can assure you. It looks great. If you've ever seen Bad Company 2 gameplay, thats what 30 FPS looks like. You'll be fine. Halo is just an all around fun game. If your not good at it. Play custom games with your friends. Those are always a blast.

In summary: Try something else. I dare you.
