i know a way to fix most (about %90) errors with 1, 2, and even 3 red lights with one MEGA solution for Xbox360! (my solution, however voids your warranty)
First, i did the x-clamp fix.
Then, i replaced the underside of the motherboard's plastic heatsinks with copper pennies wrapped in electrical tape and smothered in heat sinking glue (idk the official name for it)
Later, I cleaned out ALL of the motherboard and my heatsinks of excess dust and other things.
After, i got a more powerful fan. (12v rather than 6v)
Lastly, I got rid of the old heat sync glue on the gpu and cpu and put a fresh coat!
I did this to my Zephyr motherboard 2 YEARS AGO and it still works fine today!

iilil wrote this has help. but it doesnt show how to prevent. It does show how to prevent. Don't Have stuff piled all over and covering the holes in your Xbox. Since that will heat it and give it 2 red rings.
