The third general Discussion section debate. Rules are the same as the previous, but for new people here they are:

  • Do not flame others for their opinions.
  • Thumbs up or thumbs down other users posts if you agree or disagree respectively.
  • DO NOT QUOTE OTHER POSTS, If you wish to reply to someone please use the "@" symbol followed by their username.

A rep reward for the highest ratio of positive thumbs so again, voice your opinion, on their opinion.

So the question of the day: is video game censorship where it should be?

With this question, there are multiple answers due to the multiple countries we all come from, so try to specify where it is your talking from.

Yes, I think it is. I think this mainly because we can play games where we kill people. We can play games where we have sex. We can play games with cars. We can play games with music. We can play crime filled games. We just cant rape people or do that kind of stuff.

Sure, if you want to make a game like that, go the **** for it.
But publishing it is wrong.
Yes, video game censorship is mild (at the moment).

I Think Its Fine Because, Where Do You See Armed Teenagers In Roving Gangs Rolling Round Your Street Pretending To Be The Godfather Or Master Chief? You Don't.

Children Aren't Born This Way. They Must Be Taught These Things, And If Parents Aren't Teaching Them Then Its Down To Their Parenting Not Their Child.

video game censorship where it should be?

I Think it is fine because we can do anything in games such as video game graphic violence, sex, violent and gory scenes, partial or full nudity, portrayal of criminal behavior or other provocative and objectionable material. Video games have been studied for links to addiction and aggression.

The reason why i think its fine is because the game rating for video games its perfect and it is good as it is so that what i think Its is FINE.

I dont know to be honest i mean so many killing games are coming out and sex games but the problem with this is kids think its alright to kill in games and then they try and do it in real life because thy ethink they come back to life but they dont but thats happening as much as it used to.

Censorship of games is just a waste of taxpayer money. California had to pay the court costs when they lost of the videogame censorship trial. Parents just need to be aware of what their children play and not rely on the government to raise their children.

Government should just stay out of the gaming society. unless something illegal occurs then there is no need for Federal involvement.

So what im saying is no its not

Alright I'm changing this. It's not worth it to waste the time and effort to change the censorship. I don't think kids should be exposed to violent games because they may get the wrong impression thinking killing in real life is okay.

It's fine where it is now, kids shouldn't be playing the M rated games if they can't handle the responsibility and the game developer wouldn't be to blame if something were to happen.

Just my 2 cents...(I'm only 15 so I don't have much of a say)

End of the day, you buy a game for what it is. You know for well what you are buying and you should not complain about it. It has PEGI ratings and warnings on the case. I think there should be no censorship on games especially 18+. It's then the parents fault if somebody younger plays it.

To be honest i think video game censorship is ok.
Because its down to parents and them self how they take their the game and if parents do not the games and they think it should be taken away they should take it away them self and not complain.

So basically its down to parents and children.
Censorship is ok.

I think it is pretty stupid tbh. For example the talks of banning MW3 in England because of scenes of the london bombings is pretty ridiculus. None of the other countries shown in the trailer reacted to it but thats the way it is, like it or not :@
