Personally i think ,it could Be better but its up to The Parents, the parents who care will always monitor their children's gaming times what they play etc. But then you get the parents that couldn't give a rats ass about what their kids see day in day out that is where the Problem arises. I think Parents should just Flip over a game case when purchasing for the kids and spend 5-10 seconds Reading about the game (The pegi rating part). But as Long as we have Caring Mother's and Father's Kids will be able to play Games based on Their Maturity.

Honestly, no, it's not.
I'm sure I'll get flamed or gain some haters for thinking the way I do, but I believe that video game censorship should be how TV censorship was several years ago.
In today's movies and video games, you can hear every cuss word, however small, in every language. You see more violence then people probably even thought existed 20 years ago, and the worst part is that the player is controlling most of the major violence. Don't get me wrong, I love first person shooter games, but not because of how violent they are. I like the oldschool ones like Call of Duty (1-2), Counter Strike, and a few others. Back then it was the same objective, i.e: kill the opponents, capture objectives. But, it was not near as brutal.
Aside from the language and violence, other things that we can do in games, such as having sex (Fable, GTA, etc.) selling drugs (a few titles) and assassinating people who are either recognized as, or implied to be, higher authority figures, such as police, government figures, and adults.
Sure, it's just a video game, but those small things that are doable in the game, have an impact. Believe it or not.
If a child is raised with no video games, he's going to be a certain way based on his parent's parenting styles, and his overall persona and personality. If the same child is raised, but plays violent, aggressive, and sexual referenced games, he is going to have a different outlook on life.
There are so many more things in video games that need to be censored, that when I look at the things that are censored, it seems way out of line. There are almost no rules that can not be crossed in video games anymore.
- We can be almost as racist as we want, in video games.
- We can kill almost everybody we want, in video games.
- We are able to do anything illegal, in video games.
- We can do anything, in video games.
I'm sure I'll get plenty of thumbs downs on this one, especially because the majority of people that will read this are probably kids, no older than 13 at most. But, hopefully there are a few people who will agree with me, at least to some extent.

is video game censorship where it should be?
In my opinion I would say that it is. My reason being is because of the ESRB (entertainment Software rating board). With this system every game is giving it's own rating ranging from E- AO
E = Game is approved for everyone
E 10* = Game is approved for everyone 10 and up
T = Game is approved for people ages 13 and up
M = Game is approved for people ages 17 and up
AO = (a very uncommon rating, stands for adult only) Game is restricted to people ages 18 and up only.
Now because we have this great rating system it allows the creators of the game to do pretty much anything they want without having to worry about a lot of controversy (compared to before the ESRB was established in 1994).
Now because of this I believe that video games are censored perfectly. Games with content that are vulgar, violent, sexual, etc... are reserved for the older audiences which is great because it let's the game maker basically do whatever they want. And going back to the original question:
" is video game censorship where it should be? " the answer is yes (like I have already stated). I previously pointed out how the ESRB helped regulate the games and have them only available to te right audiences but let's ^^go another step, a step to the game makers themselves. The last thing a game maker would want is major controversy about their game because it could possibly lead to a loss in sales. So that being said (and the companies being greedy bastards) the game makers will usually control themselves and leave out things that should be left out. The only major controversy about a gamerecently was in Modern Warfare 2 with the "No Russian" level where you were an undercover agent acting like a terrorist and killing innocent people in an airport. Yes that may have crossed the line with some people but because IW knew that controversy would lead to a possible loss in money they gave the game a feature to skip out on the levels with the extreme violence.
So I feel that with the ESRB and the common sense of the game makers, video game censorship is right where it should be at. There's not too much censorship (because it would ruin games) and there's not too little censorship (thanks to the ESRB and the game developers). It's just right. Now of course this is all in my opinion and how I viewthings so peoplesperspectives may be off. If so, and you would like to talk about it pm me and we can have a discussion.
Oh and I forgot to mention that I am from the US. I'm not exactally sure if every other country has a organization such as the ESRB so if you don't know anything about them just look it up on google and learn all about them.
Sorry for any possible typos. I'm on my iPhone at the moment so composing a large post is somewhat hard.

I think Videogame censorship isn't where it needs to be right now, it needs to be completely removed, forgotten, and accepted as a moronic practice.
For example, notice how most people have been saying that you can show things such as violence, killing, criminal activity, and other such stuff.
But it is worth noting, you STILL cannot kill children in any game currently released, anything that offends one certain group, mainly minorities or feminists people still complain about and call for the censorship or recall of them.

Thanks for participating to everyone who did.
As always there is no right or wrong answer, just what the consensus believes. With that said, you guys felt this was the best reply to this question.
Thanks for participating, keep an eye out for number four.

202020 wrote Censorship of games is just a waste of taxpayer money. California had to pay the court costs when they lost of the videogame censorship trial. Parents just need to be aware of what their children play and not rely on the government to raise their children.
Government should just stay out of the gaming society. unless something illegal occurs then there is no need for Federal involvement.
So what im saying is no its not
