So, I got a job about 2 weeks ago pollinating corn, and it gets really boring there, so after I got my first good check, I'm deciding on buying an iPod touch. The problem is, I haven't kept up with the whole iPod franchise, so I don't know what the newest and greatest one is. The last time I actually researched this, was when the first iPod Nano came out (and I bought that). So I have a few basic questions for you:
1) What is the newest version of the iPod touch? (4th generation is the latest I've heard of)
2) When will the next one come out?
3) Which generation is recommended to get? (I plan on jail breaking it)
Any other information regarding my situation would be much appreciated if you include it in your reply.

the 4th generation is the newest one you can get
i dont know when a new one will come out
and i would buy the new version they are as good as all the others for jailbraking and have the other better jailbreaks out for them

1. The Newest Generation Is 4th Gen
2. September 2012 the 5th Gen is due
3.4th Gen is reccomended as it's the newest and performes best , thanks to apples new firmware it stops people downgrading they're ipods to jailbreak Them , i'm not sure if they come upgraded to the newest Fimware but if they don't don't upgrade to the newest and you can jailbreak it
