I don't want to sound like a noob or anything, but someone told me if I plug my Internet cord into my xbox I won't get banned from xbox live, is this correct? because I thought xbox live automatically connects you?

nope it doesnt automatically connect you.. plus you wont be able to connect to live anyway :L

If you connect your JTAGed console to Xbox LIVE, you will be banned instantly. Please, don't waste a KV.
If you're talking about only plugging the internet in, you're fine.

If you try to connect to XBL or test connection then you'll probably get a message saying you can not connect to XBL.
Then you also get flagged.
