The Xbox 360 is a powerful gaming system offering next-generation graphics and audio to casual and hardcore gamers alike. The fact that the Xbox 360 is so powerful has led to many issues with the system, due to overheating. Xbox 360s from early releases of the video game console are especially susceptible to these problems, and as a result, Microsoft has extended the warranties for these units to 3 years. If you are experiencing overheating issues, your system may not be permanently damaged, and there are steps you can take to troubleshoot your Xbox 360.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
Things You'll Need:
Compressed air
Step
1
Unplug all cables from your Xbox 360, as well as any connected accessories, including memory cards, USB devices and controllers.
Step
2
Remove the Xbox 360 hard drive from the console, and set it aside in a safe place to prevent damage.
Step
3
Let the Xbox 360 cool at room temperature, but in an area with good air circulation.
Step
4
Spray compressed air through all of the holes you can find on the Xbox 360, especially the back vents, where the fans are.
Step
5
Plug all of the cables, but not the hard drive or any accessories, back into the Xbox 360. Turn it back on once it has cooled.
Step
6
Turn the Xbox 360 back off and plug all of your other devices, including your hard drive, back into the console if it is working again. If the unit is still not working, you may have experienced permanent damage from the overheating unit. Call 1 (800) 469-9269 to contact Microsoft customer support and see if your Xbox 360 is still under warranty.

I can tell you right now this will not work, maybe for a few days but it will die again.

I had an Xbox Arcade and it died so i resorted to even opening my xbox. Sooner or later i found this and tried it and even though there was a lot of dust to come out, It died within a matter of days.
