1.Restart the console.
If your Xbox still doesn't work, then a loose cord or cable may be the problem. First, remove all power cords and cables, basically anything you can remove. Pull out the power cord from the wall. Reconnect firmly all cords and cables back into the Xbox. Plug the power cord back into the wall and turn on the console.
The next thing to try assuming the above didn't work, is to turn the console off, unplug the power and then remove the hard drive. After plugging in the power cord, turn on the console. If there's no "three red lights error", turn off the Xbox and remove the power cord. Now reattach the hard drive, reconnect the power and turn it back on.
If you believe that your Xbox is experiencing too much heat, then switch it off and give it some time to cool down. Make sure that the cooling ducts are not obstructed and that your Xbox is in an open and well ventilated area. Keep your machine away from all heat sources. Remove dust and debris from inside the console. Use a small fan to blow air across your console. The power brick should be kept cool as well so remove it from soft shag carpeting.

i would do the towel trick as a last resort
wait a day or two then try the towel trick.
if you do the towel trick, then make sure there is no game in the xbox and wait until the fan stops working to turn it on again

I did the cool down tip before and it worked. But now its back to RROD, I let it cool, unplugged for over 30 hours or so. Any other tips?
