But if your friends buy them cant you recover there gt and save them onto your HDD or something?

Dont know about usb but i got them with my transfer cable

There is a way. I think its changing the profile ids in a text editor. I've heard it somewhere.

Guide - How To Get Free DLC
This is a really easy guide to getting free DLC from your trusted friend account on XBL.

1) Get somebody like a friend who has some DLC that you want.

2) Ask the person for their account info like GT, email and password.

3) Recover their account on your xbox.

4) Once you have recovered your friends' account, go to xbox.com and sign in as your friend.

5) Go to the " Support" tab near the top of the page and once you see the drop down menu, click " license transfer".

6) From there just follow the instructions it tells you to do.

7) Then once you have completed the license transfer, go on xbox and sign in on your freinds account.

8) Hit the xbox logo on your controller and scroll to the last tab on the right.

9) Then hit "account management", then hit "download history" and download all of the DLC you want for free!

*** This can only be done on the same account ONCE and then you will have to wait exactly one year to do it again.

Only trust your friends to do this.
