Alright, I know quite alot of TheTechGame community own the famous Call of Duty 4 on PC. I then came across quite alot of threads asking if they know how to fix "lag". So I figured I'd make this out to help you guys. Also, this guide was written 100% by me. I've given credit for the pics, but other than that, everything is mine.
Notes:
Step #1 - Backing up your original Config.
Go to your Call of Duty 4 Folder, and hit "Players" - Select "Profiles" and then select your profile folder, and you'll see a file called "config_mp.cfg" simply right click that, and hit copy. Now just paste it onto your Desktop, or anywhere else which you can remember when it's located. Rename it too: config_mp_backup.cfg

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (<- Create a new Folder on your Desktop, name it whatever you want. It's just a place to store your original Config backup in-case you dislike/ever want to change back to the normal Config, or if anything for some weird reason goes wrong - now simply paste the config_mp.cfg into that folder for a backup!)
You have now backed up your original CFG!
Step #2 - Installing the new Config (Frame-rate lag fix)
Step #3 - Adding your original Config/settings back to normal (ONLY read if you for some reason want to remove yitch3.cfg / the new tweaks you have just installed!)
Finally, the results; Before & After (Not my pics)
Enjoy.
Post below/PM me/Add me on Xfire if you encounter any issues.

Personally, I don't use this as I have a new Computer, but on my old Computer, I averaged 20 FPS, and then I discovered this, and I then got about 180. Which is just over 2x better than Xbox.
I now get 333 FPS constant. (Highest you can get)
Thanks, I hope I helped some of you guys out.

Notes:
- FPS means "Frames per second"
- If you still struggle with your FPS after this guide, turn your brightness up until it becomes better & gives you a more playable FPS
- The average older/cheaper computers run Call of Duty 4 (PC) at about 20-30 FPS - After this tutorial you can hit anything between 80-200, no matter what PC you're on (Unless it's a Vietnam War Veteran's PC)
- Minimum graphics card you need to run Call of Duty 4 (PC) - Nvidia GForce 6150 SE (Or better, of course.)
- If you need further help, or misunderstand anything, please PM me, or add me on Xfire: Jaykeh

You have now backed up your original CFG!
Step #2 - Installing the new Config (Frame-rate lag fix)
Firstly, you want to download [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Now open up a text document, copy and paste all of that into it!
Now, save that to your desktop and name it "yitch3.cfg" and make sure the save-type is "all files"!
yitch3
Now you have downloaded that, Put it into your "main" folder, located at;
C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main
or if you use Steam...
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main
Now, open Call of Duty 4 (PC), open up the console, and type in "/exec yitch3.cfg" & then "/vid_restart"
Alright, now we've done that; The best way to run this file is to insert it into your config_mp.cfg file, located in your players>profiles>(profile name) folder!
And you're done. Just restart Call of Duty 4 (PC), type into the console "/com_maxfps 250" and enjoy, you now have a solid, playable, and stable frame-rate!

This is a very short process, so don't worry. Alright, firstly go to the location/folder of where you backed up your original config_mp.cfg.
Now, simply open up your Call of Duty 4 (PC) folder, go to players>profiles>(profile name) and simply just delete the "yitch3.cfg" file, and drag your old config_mp.cfg into it, and rename it "config_mp.cfg" and hit "move and replace". You have now restored your original settings/config back to it's original state.

All depends on the graphics card, tbh.
