i have a netgear router and my xbox and my desktop are connected to it via wires. And my 2 laptops are connected wireless. And my ipod is also connected to it along with my other desktop which is also wireless. When i play xbox i keep on getting disconnected and so does my desktop and both are wired into it. Every computer is turned off except my one laptop my xbox and my desktop all of them except my laptop are wired to it. I always have to restart it and it still does it. The router is brand new and it still does it. Can anyone help me.

It sounds like everything connected to the router is taking too much bandwidth. Try limiting the Bandwidth of your PC's/Laptop's etc through the settings of them. If you need a bit more bandwidth, contact your ISP.

You just need to manually assign ip address "per" system (pc, xbox, laptop, ps3)

For instance, my main ip to get to router configurations was "192.168.2.1"
You should assign a different to each system:
Xbox: 192.168.2.50
PC: 192.168.2.51
Laptop 192.168.2.52
and so on.

When it's set to "auto" it gets "confused" and assigns same ip per system and it "disconnects" other.

Damn I hope I didnt confuse you, go here for instructions: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

and follow instructions, but using your router info.

Oh yeah, those instructions are for xbox but you do the same thing for each computer.
Just type "network connections" in run OR search box after click start button.
