It mostly happens when your jtag over heats.

You need a reflow on the southbride or do the southbridge xclamp fix
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
i can reflow it if you want i do have a reflow station (foor like 15$+return shipping)
This error occurs when your harddrive is defective, it might still work sometimes....
There is also a small chance that it is a cold joint under the Southbridge causing problems with the I/O of the HDD.
It can also be related to wiring the diodes while JTAGGING.
Couldn't start xam.xex

i find it hard to belive that not one of the comments on this thread is correct, E79 has nothing to do with overheating  E79 will either be a bad flash or a problem with the jtag wires or there's a small chance it's the HDD, i would say it's youre jtag wires in this case, all you need to do is do the aud_clamp wiring and that will prevent this from happening

To piggy back on what -TANK- said,E79 is NOT an overheating problem.
E74 is associated with overheating of the RAM CPU and/or GPU,E79 is either a bad flash or a wiring issue, and tbh I've never heard of someone having a HDD problem before, but it can be associated with it.
I'm 99% sure it's not a bad flash since it only happens 1/10 times,if it was you'd be stuck with it each time.
I'd go with -TANK- on it,he knows what he's talking about when it comes to these things.
