you laser might be worn out, i used to have this problem i had to spend like 20 mins to get a game working and once one worked the rest would unless i left my xbox for a bit. if your xbox still has its warrenty you could send it back otherwise you will need a new cd reader.

Throw it out a Window wait 2 days Take it in the Shower and BAM!
Dont Try that....
Try to get a can of Compressed air and Blow it into where ur Disc Reader is if it stil doesnt read send it back to Microsof if your Warranty is up Open up and Remove all the dust
