find your Router type, and model, and then choose Minecraft server, and it will give you a step by step guide to port forwarding, if you can't do that, use hamachi, i'll be able to help with that.

Well one of the requirements for portforwarding is to only open the port for a certain IP address, If you don't have a Static IP on the PC your running the server on, the port won't always be open, so you need to have a Static IP, i think portforward.com tells you how to setupa Static IP.
