Um, it depends on what operating system you have. If you have an older version of Windows, such as XP, then you will have a certain voice for your "text to speech" program, most likely a Male, that is pre-installed on your computer. Vista and Windows 7 both have the Female voice.

What you are doing is just creating a sound file that is programmed to be played through the "text to speech" program.

To find "text to speech" go to your start logo on your desktop in the bottom left corner, do a search for "text to speech", click on the first thing that pops up on the search, it should be something like "Change text to speech options", click it and on the top it should say "Microsoft Sam" or "Microsoft Anna".

Text to speech is a program that is pre-installed on ALL window operating systems that allow you to type something in and the computer will say it with a pre-loaded voice which is either Sam(Male) or Anna(Female).

3. save it as computer_gender.vbs (when you go to save it under the "save as type" select all files)
4. If the voice is Male you have a Male computer if the voice is Female you have a female computer.

make sure you keep the quotes and that it is all on the first line of the notepad.

it gave me this error to because i took out the quotes the very first time. so DO NOT remove the quotes copy the whole bold sentence.

or the defalt voice of you computer is set to male or female...
