Open GL is how your graphics card shades pixels if you do have openGL you will have a higher FPS . But if you don't you will run lower than usual but you can turn it off in minecraft by going to options >Video settings> then advanced openGL

Bad video card drivers!
-----------------------
Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.
