1- First You Are Going To Want To Find The Nearest Place That Looks Like Shelter, This Could Be A cave, An overhanging mountain or something that has something like a ceiling/roof.
This Can Be Made out of cobblestone, stone, brick, dirt etc.

2- You Will Then Want To Brick up your shelter with whatever material you would like to use whilst it is still sun light like this.

3- Then You Need To Find some wood (Tree's) To Make A Crafting Table.

4- After You Have Collected as many pieces of wood that you have you can turn them into planks.

5- Once you have made and collected your Planks you will need to make a crafting table like this.

6- When You have collected your crafting table, place it in your shelter.


7- After You have placed the crafting table in your shelter you will need to find coal to make light.

8- Once The coal is collected, go onto your crafting table and place 2 wooden planks on top of each other to create a wooden stick Then put the wooden sticks in a crafting square and put the coal above it, this should create a torch.

9- place the torch on the wall in your shelter, this will stop monsters from spawning and let you survive through the night.
