Unless you have the Microsoft component cables for Xbox, no there is nothing extra. I needed to wait a week after i bought my PVR to be able to record.

Thanks for the input bros. The only problem I can foresee is that I currently use a VGA cable for my 360 to my PC monitor so I get dual use of it. Is it possible to get an adapter for component(HDAV or RGBRO) to vga.

You can use a VGA -> Component adapter, I think. Google it.

Rent a ton of videos from your local video store and watch em and record em in 720 at the same time man... its sooo good
