First off I am not a fanboy of Tony Hawk or Birdhouse skateboards, but still, pretty cool to watch some awesome skateboarders for free and get some things signed.

Skateboarding legend and impresario Tony Hawk and his Birdhouse Skateboards team will roll through town Aug. 31 for a one-hour demonstration at Frederick's Hill Street Skatepark.
The stop is part of an East Coast tour for Hawk and his company, Birdhouse, from Miami to New York.

Hawk, 43, will be accompanied by professionals Kevin Staab and Willy Santos, as well as a crew of Birdhouse team amateurs, including Aaron "Jaws" Homoki, Riley Hawk, Shawn Hale, Clint Walker, David Loy, Shaun Gregoire and Elliot Sloan.

Mike Umberger, park coordinator of the City of Frederick, said the demo will be free while Hawk and his team are skating.

"(Hawk's) a human being that's gotten really good at skateboarding, and he's a positive role model to the public," he said.

Umberger said Hawk and other professional skaters' appearance at the skate park can largely be attributed to the efforts of Frederick's Pit Crew skate shop owners, Tim Reardon and Malcolm Bryan.

The Hawk demo will start at 4 p.m. and last for about an hour, Umberger said. Hill Street Skatepark is located at 100 Hill St., Frederick.

That's awesome. Tony Hawk usually doesn't do that much anymore. That would be pretty sick if rodney mullen put on a show. My first board was birdhouse it was good, but it's to small now. Now I use Girl.

I rode on an airplane with rodney Mullen like a year ago
Sat two rows in front of me. Got his autograph too.

Yeah same here I have a Girl board and a Enjoi board but I mostly ride the Enjoi one 8)
