So im on IOS 5 beta 6 jailbroken with snowbreeze and My phone dies, as you all know its a Tethered Jailbreak, So i go into Ibooty and start it up and my Iphone 4 GSM starts up at the Uploading Ull which was wierd and wouldnt boot, So i wanted my phone back so i did a pwned Dfu restore fresh from apples 4.3.5. At the final stage of restoring it returns with Unknown error code (1) So i looked that up online and the only suggestions are as follow, "Yo man i thats like th error 21 just put it in DFU mode itll restore then."
and "The Iphone needs to be put into DFU mode not recovery mode to be restored." So ive tried everything i could possibly think of and ive never had this big of a problem before with restoring my Iphone. If anyone can help Ill +rep you for a whole week as many times as i can!

I wonder if the lower the error code the more f'ed up your phone because 2xxx erros are easy to fix and the 1xxx erros need a program but whatever help i can get hit me up

I had the same problem no matter what I did it wouldn't restore. DFU mode or not. Try a different computer or use TinyUmbrella ( Put into DFU mode and click fix recovery ) and let it sit and Green Poison should pop up. Let it go through everything and it should work. I still have 4.2.8 SHSH blobs, but they are useless to me because I can't restore without getting "Error (1)"

I just read it again. I don't think you can downgrade with the TinyUmbrella method.

R u sure it was in DFU mode, DFU mode can easily bypass error 1.
Try Putting it manually into DFU mode with this TUT, also make sure your iphone is plugged into the computer and powered off before putting it into DFU. DFU mode is a black screen so you wont be able to tell it is in DFU mode until itunes says its in recovery mode. Recovery mode has a picture on the screen and is completely different to DFU mode as it loads as part of the firmware which if is F***ed then so will recovery mode. Howere DFU mode is not part of the firmware and get be F***ed by a jailbreak.

Heres a tut:
This is probably the easiest iTunes error to fix.

To fix this you just need to know 1 simple thing. The difference between recovery mode and DFU mode. Because that is the problem. You are trying to do a restore, custom restore, downgrade, jailbreak or something and you are doing it from recovery mode. When in fact you need to be in DFU mode.

So here is what you need to do. Grab your device and plug it into iTunes. Then press the power button (the top right button) for three seconds.

Then while holding the power button, hold the home button for 10 seconds.

After 10 seconds let go of the power button while still holding onto the home button. Do this for 10-15 seconds or until iTunes pops up with a display saying iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. (I know I said we dont want to be in recovery mode but trust me, your not in it, iTunes just doesnt have a prompt for DFU mode.)

And voila, you should be good to go and no longer receive iTunes error 1.

However if DFU restoring still doesnt fix your iphone then in the past ive had experience with error 1 being a hardware error. So the only thing i can advise is to hand it in to apple. Dont worry they shouldnt be able to tell its jailbroken as you can't get into it and it has a hardware error anyway. Just make an excuse like you updated it then it started lagging/freezing up to often so you tried to restore it and it did this.

Also it may not be what i said above since your on ios5 beta then i heard about it having this thing to stop downgrading, im not sure if its a rumour or true but since you are trying to go from ios5 beta to ios 4.3.5(latest) then i guess this might be causing the problem. All you can do is try updating your iPhone to ios5 beta somehow however you did it in the first place but if that doesnt work then you might have to wait till ios 5 is fully released which is late this year.

If that doesnt work i definitely would say it is a hardware related issue and will need to be given to apple
