FAQ is at very bottom! thanks for viewing!
Section 1 The calculator (brief introdction)
So have you ever been bored in Algebra,Geometry,Trig,Physics or just any "math" related subject. Well most schools would go make you buy something that looks like this.
So that monster of a calculator is made by the manufacture TI (texas instruments) and this model is the Ti 86 Witch is a basic model but! I will tell you the best two that can be used for your classes and some "other activities" <Games... (btw most TI calculators can play games)
The ones that are the most reliable in my opinion are the TI 84 or TI 84 Silver Edition. And the TI 83+ any thing higher will work but most good games are coded for those calculators.
Section 2 Let the modding begin
What your gonna need
1. Ti Calculator (Read Above) IF you havnt already
2. The usb to calculator cable (comes with it)
^Btw its just a ps3 controller cable lol
3. A Pc i have only done this on a pc. I dont know how to on mac yet!

The computer programs! / downloads
1. Winrar- (opens zipfiles) = Rarlab.com
2. MirageOS- (Modded OS) = [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
3. TIConnect (view files on calc.) = [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
4. The games - download only games compatible with your calculator! =http://www.ticalc.org/pub/83plus/asm/games/mirageos/

Section 3 The tutorial!
Now the text -TUTORIAL-
Step 1.
Installing mirageOS
Ok so you should have MirageOS Downloaded and it should be in a zipfile. What your gonna wanna do is extract the files in that zipfile
to a folder on your desktop. After that has been completed open up that new folder and you should see a couple of files. Ignore them all EXCEPT the MIRAGEOS.8xk file you will want to right click it and select the option Send to "TI Calculator". That should open up mirageos and install the program to your calculator in about 1 minute. After that is completed exit mirageOS. then turn your calculator on and click the Purple APPS button and scroll down to MirageOS and press the enter button. It should pull up just a folder with the name "Main". Now just exit out of mirage by pushing MODE. mirage is now installed go to part 2
Step 2.
Installing the game
Go to the site and pick a game the top picked game is Megaman but i really like tetris and Phoenix 4.1 < 1st person shooter .
Ok so when you find a game and download it. It should be in a zipfile extract it to your desktop. ok now open TIConnect and click Device explorer and find your device. WHen it finds your device it will pull up a file menu. There will be a folder called Flash/Archive thats what we are gonna drag the game into. Now minimize TICOnnect and open the folder that has your game in it and choose the file that has for Ex. Megaman.8XP < the rest dosnt matter al you want is the 8xp file. 8xp is for ti 84 calculators and 83xp is for ti83 calculators. now get your file that works with the calculator and drag and drop it onto the Flash/archive on the TiConnect aplication. Let it load and finish. Now you are almost done
Step 3.
Launching the game.
On calculator go to apps go to mirageOS then when in marageOS press enter on the MAIN folder then select your game and play!
Videos about it!
Section 4 FAQ/And extras below!
FAQ/Extra Info!
FAQ-
1. Q-Wtf the game wont show up in mirageOS?
A-Well there could be many problems

4.YOur calculators RAM/Memory was filled!
2.Q- Why does my game flash and then not work when selected?
A- you have filled up the memory or you have no more RAM left!
Resolution- Take a battery out wait five seconds put it back in turn the calculator on and it should say RAM cleared!
it will delete some games if you have alot downloaded!
3. Where can i get a calculator?
A- any local supply store or school suplies store! Pretty much any huge electronics store.
In the US we have michaels! or just use the internet.
4. How do i know how much memory is taken up? and how much do i have?
A- in the MirageOS applications when you highlight the MAIN folder look in the bottom right corner you will see how much that folder is taking up!
A .2- Most new calculators have about 48K Bytes older versions have 24K Bytes.
Read if you are really interested in other cool calculator stuff!
SOOO If your really cool and yo have read this far and are still interested in reading about this cool stuff here is some extra information.
What is mirageOS? Well mirageOS is a Operating system program for the Ti calculator witch allows your calculator to read more code like the 8xp. or other Assembly produce products! There are many others as in Ion and NOshell they are both good! But mirage is the most reliable in my opinion the second best is ion. Ok so i mentioned Assembly earlier and that is the program that people use to produce these games. they write code in assembly and then assembly makes the file for your calculator! its pretty awesome.
Also the Ti calculator itself can create its own games there is a program mode witch alows you to write script on the calculator.
Most people take these calculators and use them for calculators but people like me make these calculators fun as shit!
The Ti 89 i wanted to add a section about this calculator because it can run games at a Gameboy advanced speed it is the perfect calculator if you want something advanced like that!
Ok thanks for reading my post comment and vote the poll and keep it active thank you!

you can also use a calculator to jailbreak at ps3, it has to be one of the mathematical ones though.
