Plot
Kind of simple, run around, collect power ups/weapons, and kill a load of zombies.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Gameplay

The game play is also very, very simple, move with the left stick, shoot with the right. It's a classic twin stick arcade game. It's scorebased and up to 4 player. It's very fluid, and if you look away, it's easy to get mauled in a matter of seconds. The weapons are also good, you start with an assault rifle, but can upgrade to a Lmg, Rpg, flamethrower and shotgun. Over time the zombies improve, getting stronger, and changing form to bubbles, and snakes. The level changes overtime, and improves in difficulty.

Sound

The soundtrack in this game, is very unique, so unique it was mentioned in 360Gamer magazine because of it. It is a song, sung by the developer himself. Very quirky indeed.

Graphics

The graphics are good, it's hard to tell as you view from top-down. There are no buggy parts. Some screenshots have been scattered in the post.

My Opinion

I find the game very addictive, and fun. No, it may not keep you going for ages like normal games, but is fun once in a while, and for 60 pence, its a steal. Also, good for parties.

My Rating

7/10

BTO is a medium paced high learning curve game. If your anything like me you just love playing games that make you pull your hair out to eventually understand what is going on.

With that being said its a decently maintained browser based game ran by Lekool.com. The game was developed in China and the owners of Lekool translated the game. and brough it over here and have done an amazing job keeping the game up to date and always on the move. Weekly events. Fun forum events and even better chat events!

I highly reccomend this game for the average gamer or even more for the active gamer. The more time you spend on this. The more you get out of it. Join Today!

I love retro games. Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is an amzing game even though there are a few stinkers on there. Can Namco Bandai pull of the same trick here with all their classics? Of course they have.

You're getting 25 and more Namco's 1980s releases. 5 of them have been on an Xbox release before but some of the others have been on the PS2. Seen as this is a compilation game I'll give a mini review of each of the games.

Baraduke is a side scrolling shooter that puts you in different rooms with lots of enemies. When you've killed all the enemies you go to the next room. This one isn't that bad but it's incredibly challenging as you only have 2 hit points and the controls are quite floaty so it's quite hard to aim to shoot. Probably won't play it again though.

Bosconian is like Asteroids, an arcade shooter basically. You pilot a small ship along 8 different directions and you must destroy multipart space stations. You can fire from both front and rear which was quite innovative for the time. The only way you can destroy a space station is a direct shot in the centre which is pretty tough. Once you've got used to the controls this is great fun.

It's time for the first well known title, Dig Dug 2. It's a departure from the original because the levels take place above ground and not underground. This sequel isn't as challenging as the original but not as fun. Give it a go for nostalgia reasons.

Another Dig Dug game, Dig Dug Arrangement. This is a remake of the original and it's just horrible. The graphics are horrible, the music terrible and the sprites are horrible. In fact all the Arrangement games on here, including Pac Man and Galaga, can be avoided.

It's hard to compare Dragon Buster to anything but I've found something. Think Zelda 2, the sidescrolling one, and you're there even though Dragon Buster predates it. It's got a hub world, lots of dungeons which all of the bosses are dragons hence the name. It's a bit dated but still good fun.

And now I have one of the stars of the package. Dragon Spirit is a top down shooter. The music is fantastic, the gameplay is fun but challenging and the difficulty is perfectly balanced. It's a retro game that I'd never heard of before this.

Here comes a classic. Galaga 88 doesn't need many words. It's a shooter. It's the update to an already great shooter and now it's even better. I keep drawing myself to it.

Galaxian isn't really needed with Galaga 88 on the list so you won't play this much.

Grobda is a decent tank fighter game. Each map has it's own quirks to keep things challenging. There's a unique thing that happens though. When you destroy a tank there's a blast radius and anything in that radius gets destroyed. A standard now but back then amazing. It won't hold your attention for long.

King and Balloon is an odd take on Galaga. There's a king below you and the enemies will try and pick him up. If he does you will lose a life. It's good fun and you soon forget it's quite like Galaga.

Mappy is a very unique game. You play as a police officer mouse trying to retrive some stolen goods from some cats in a mansion. It's a maze based game and if you touch the cat it's instant death. This is one of our favourite games in the package.

I really don't want to mention Tower of Druaga but I have to. Simply put it's bland and boring and I never want to see that name again.

Metro Cross is great fun. You control a runner who goes over a side scrolling corridor hopping over barrels, slime pits collecting skateboards and cans. Time trial enthusiasts will lap this one up.

If you've played The World Ends With You (And I highly recommend you do) and played the Ten Pin Slammer mini game then you have played Motos. For anyone who hasn't here's what you do. You control a ball knocking off enemies off a platform. This is great fun.

I don't need to explain Pac Man. You go around a maze eating stuff avoiding the ghosts. It's brilliant.

Pole Position hasn't aged very well sadly. It was one of the first arcade racers and was good fun but it isn't that fun now.

Rally X may sound like a rally version of Pole Position but it's more like Pac Man. It lacks the charm of Pac Man but it's just as fun.

Rolling Thunder is in my opinion the best game on the compilation. The graphics are impressive for the time and it's great fun. You play as an agent going through levels. Enemies will come out of doors and try to gun you to death but hopefully you'll kill them first. Amazing.

Sky Kid is anice twist on side scrolling shooters. As well as trying to destroy everything there is you have to land safely at the end of each level. It's not that hard to pull off but it adds more depth. It's a side scrolling shooter so it's an amazing challenge.

There's some heavy presentation issues that are hard to ignore. Having to go off the game to get to the special XBLA titles included is annoying and the menu is bare bones

Namco Museum: Virtual Arcade is a great compilation. It lacks the star quality and top notch presentation of Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection but any 1980s arcade lovers will lap this one up. Recommended.

Verdict

Fun: Some are great, some are not. 4/5

Presentation: Very bare bones. 2/5

Length: So many games to play. 5/5

Gameplay: Controls are tight in most of the games. 5/5

Story: Average is 3.8 4/5

Graphics: Some graphics haven't aged. 3/5

# Nintendo
# Next Level Games
# Boxing
# Release: May 22, 2009
# PEGI: E (Everyone)

Next Level Games, responsible for the Mario Football games, have a lot of responsibility for this game. In Mario Strikers no one would care if you messed up. But this is Punch Out. The best boxing game ever and one of the best games on the NES. If Next Level got this wrong their heads would be on the pikes of many adults who loved Punch Out when they were kids. Luckily they've done it perfectly.

For anyone who doesn't know what Punch Out is, first off shame on you, and now I'll tell you. Punch Out isn't a traditional boxing game. You can't move around the ring all the time and you need to know when the opponent punchs so you can dodge and then a counter attack. It's immensly satisfying when you've found the weaknesses of an opponent that's been giving you some bother.

I've played a lot of the NES and SNES games before this came out on the VC so I was well prepared. The thing is there is only one new boxer, Disco Kid. The rest have been ripped straight out of the NES version. So I thought this was a mere reimagining. They also seemed to be much easier.

Of course all the boxers have kept their old tricks so I can finish most of them in one go. Glass Joe is still patheticly weak, King Hippo still seems invincible until you hit him in the mouth and you can still take Bald Bull down in his charge by timing your punch just right. I breezed through the game at two hours and I'm ready to write this review until something big happened.

It was called World B. Like all good champions Little Mac has to defend his belt. But all the fighters have changed their tactics and they're harder. Let's take Glass Joe. Infamous for being pathetic because of his Glass Jaw. So a cutscene before the fight shows him going to the doctor and the doctor giving Glass Joe a headguard to defend himself from head punches. He's also got better, he delays and feints so you dodge when you shouldn't and then punches you when you're back in your regular place. So I lost to Glass Joe. Glass Joe. I tried to commit suicide as I couldn't bare the embarrasment.

So when I finally done with World B 8 hours I'm gone. So has Punch Out got any more in it's locker? Yes, there's an exhibition mode.

This isn't your usual run of the mill exhibtion mode where you can just pick your opponent and be done with it. You have lots of challenges to do. Glass Joe may be really easy in regular boxing but when you can't duck, block or dodge it's much harder. I defy only ninjas will be able to complete all the challenges. I still am.

There's also a multiplayer mode as well which is a great laugh. When you rack up a combo you can turn into Giga Mac or Giga Scott (Returning from the SNES version of Punch Out) and really destroy your opponent. It's not as memorable as the other modes though.

The graphics are superb. The cel shading really makes the boxer's expressions stand out and fits the nutty atmosphere of the game. The soundtrack is merely an update of the classic soundtrack so you won't be dissapointed. Oh and there's a nice surprise for Punch Out fans at the end.

Punch Out is perfect for everyone. Newer players will love multiplayer and the easiness of the opening rounds and experianced Punch Out fans will love the incredibly challenging World B and Exhibition challenges. Essential.

Verdict

Fun: Immense satisfaction and Giga Mac. 5/5

Presentation: Next Level get the difficulty perfect. 5/5

Gameplay: Button mashing gets you on the floor. 5/5

Length: I'm still doing the exhibtions. 5/5

Story: There's a nice surprise at the end for Punch Out fans. 5/5

Graphics: Zany cel shading is perfect. 5/5

Deus Ex: Human Revolution game review.

The game is set in 2027. Unless you have played the original game or have a very good attention to detail, then at times, you will have no idea what's going on at some points. The vast cities, countless places to explore remind me of Fallout, stealing, hacking. The RPG side adds a certain.. Mass Effect feel to it. Then, when it gets down to it, the stealth element is almost like Splinter Cell. Takedowns, sneaking past people, it's all included. The only moan I have is the difficulty. I had it on 'Tell me a story', which is Easy, in other words. At some points, it is extremely hard, especially when there's no clear way out. I was stuck in the police station, right at the bottom, and if I went up a few floors and got seen by the patrolling guards, I'd have 25 people trying to kill me.

Graphics: Despite the loud amount of yellow in the game, : 9.7.

Gameplay: Many characters, places to explore, creative missions etc. : 9.3.

Controls: Different to many other games, especially CoD, takes about an hour to get used to. But very easy to remember. : 10.

Music/sound: Jensens voice is orgasmic. The soundtrack comprehends with the action, calm moments = very tense music; Shooting = fast paced music. The sound of reloading is like butter haha. 10

End review: 9.8/10.
Must buy if you like stealth games.

Pre-Review for Modern Warfare 3

Game Information:
Release Date: November 8th, 2011
Developer(s): Infinity Ward, Raven, (Single-Player) Sledgehammer Games (Multi-Player)
Genre: First-Person Shooter (FPS)
Platform: XBOX 360, PS3, PC (Most likely Wii and Nintendo DS as well)
Age Restrictions: 17+

Synopsis:
Modern Warfare 3 will be the third game in Infinity Ward's "Modern Warfare" series. The original Modern Warfare game, Call of Duty 4, began it all by taking the game outside it's WW2 origins. Modern Warfare 2 beefed it up with Infinity Ward's always awesome single-player Campaign mode, this time called "For the Record." However, the multi-player was given a complete revamp for this game, with more customization options, like the ability to customize your killstreak loadout and your player card. Modern Warfare 3's single-player has been confirmed to pick up right where MW2 left off, however this time, you will take the fighting to the biggest cities in the world, such as New York City, Paris, London, and Berlin. The multi-player will most likely be the same as MW2's, with new guns, killstreaks, and player card options. MW2's "Spec Ops" mode was not a huge hit with most people, however, MW3 will take Spec Ops to the next level with its new mode, "Survival." Survival is almost like a zombie type game, with a max of 2 players, with each wave getting increasingly harder. There will be new shops so you can buy guns, perks, and equipment that will help defeat the enemy. This seems to be the thing people are looking forward to most.

Single-Player Plot: (WARNING: HEAVY SPOILERS. Read at own discretion.) ((Source: Kotaku))
Modern Warfare 3 opens as Modern Warfare 2 closed: The United States under siege by Russian forces, ultranationalist Vladimir Makarov on the loose, Captain John "Soap" MacTavish and Captain John Price wounded and on the run with the Russian informant known as Nikolai.

Fleeing to a safehouse in Dharmasala, India, the three are attacked by Makarov's men. In this firefight players take on the role of Yuri, a loyalist who works for Nikolai. Their safehouse compromised, the group flee the area in a helicopter.

The game then cuts to Manhattan where Russia is launching an attack on the city from a fleet of ships parked in the Hudson River. (It appears the famous U.S.S. Intrepid may be destroyed.) The U.S. calls in Delta Force to repel the attack. You take on the role of Frost, a Delta Force operative under the command of Sandman. Your goal is to take out a jamming tower on top of the New York Stock Exchange to open the area for a U.S. counterattack.

Following the mission, Delta flies out of the city on a Blackhawk, gunning down enemy choppers as they make their way to the harbor where they have to infiltrate and take down a Russian sub which is coordinating the attack.

As the New York missions wrap up the game jumps forward in time half a year, thrusting players into the role of a Russian agent tasked with protecting the president of Russia as he flies to sign a peace treaty with the U.S. The plane is attacked by hijackers mid-air who attempt to kidnap the president and his daughter. The daughter manages to escape. The president of Russia in hand, Makarov vows to prevent a peace treaty by getting the launch codes out of the president and launching an attack against the U.S.

The game then returns us to Price, Soap and Yuri, now in Africa in a search for Makarov. They meet with a local South African arms dealer who tells them about a shipment of chemical weapons that Makarov is trying to buy. The group make their way to Sierra Leone to secure the weapons from African militia.

Next, players take on the role of an SAS operative who is tasked with stopping a delivery of weapons of mass destruction at a London dockyard. A gun battle ensues, and the agents are chased through the London subway. The mission culminates with a series of unmarked trucks exploding in front of the house of Parliament, releasing a deadly chemical agent.

Several other European cities and military bases are hit by similar terrorist attacks backed by Russia, and the death toll rises to the tens of thousands. The series of chemical attacks opens the door for a Russian military blitz strikes across the continent.

Price discovers that the South African arms dealer who tipped them off about the chemical weapons deceived them and travels to Somalia to find the man and interrogate him. Through the arms dealer, Price discovers that Makarov's right hand man, Volk, is hiding out in Paris.

The game's attention next shifts to Hamburg, Germany where players take on the role of a U.S. tank gunner fighting to push back a Russian advance backed by armored divisions.

As Hamburg falls, the game shifts us back to the story of Price and his crew. Now in Paris, players control Delta Force operative Frost who, with the help of the French special forces, leads an assault on Volk's location in the underground catacombs of the city. Next, players take to the sky supporting Frost's ground movements as a gunner in an AC-130.

After capturing and interrogating Volk, Frost learns that Makarov has a meeting in a Prague hotel. Players control Yuri as he and Soap slip into the Russian-controlled city and set-up an ambush for Makarov in a church bell tower. Makarov somehow catches wind of the trap and escapes. Soap, Yuri and Price then have to fight their way out of the city.

Yuri leads the team to one of Makarov's headquarters in the Czech mountains and the group infiltrates the location, looking for clues. They discover that the ultranationlist has the president and is trying to get the codes out of him. Makarov has also discovered the location of the Russian president's daughter. The group move out to Berlin to try and prevent her kidnapping. Playing as Frost, gamers must find the daughter and protect her, while making their way through war-torn Berlin. The daughter, however, is captured and flown away.

Frost next makes his way to the Kremlin where a task force of operatives attack and free the hostages, but Makarov manages to escape again.

The game's final mission occurs in Dubai, where Yuri, Price and Sandman launch an assault on a heavily guarded hotel, eventually finding Makarov and, yes, finally killing him.

It also appears that the game may also include a post-credits level that features the burning of Washington, D. C.

The stage seems set for a passing of the torch: from player-controlled members of Task Force 141 to the new characters from Delta Force.

Gameplay: (Campaign)
I expect that Modern Warfare 3's campaign will run just as smooth, if not better than, Modern Warfare 2's campaign. Modern Warfare 3 seems to have a much bigger plot and more levels than MW2, and with Infinity Ward's history of game plots, this game will be one of, if not the single biggest campaign of all time. This seems to be a fitting way to likely end the Modern Warfare series.

Gameplay: (Multi-Player)
I am basically going to reiterate what was stated before. The multi-player mode of this game will be bigger than MW2's. There will most likely be more maps, more guns, more killstreaks, and more features. This will probably be the best CoD multi-player there will be.

Gameplay: (Spec Ops)
Now THIS I am excited about. The new survival mode looks absolutely AMAZING. There will be wave after wave of enemy, almost like zombies mode. There will be all new features, such as the shops, the support squads, and of course, BOMB DOGS! This looks to be an amazing feature that will put Infinity Ward's side game up in the leagues with Treyarch's Zombies.

Graphics:
From the look of the trailers, I'd say that the graphics will be top of the line, it will run at a smooth 30 FPS, for both consoles and PC's. (Yes, this will be on Steam.)

Expected Ratings: (Out of 10)
Plot: 10
Gameplay: 9
Multi-player: 9.5
Spec Ops: 10
Graphics: 9.5

Overall: 9.5, this game will be AMAZING.

Dead Island Review

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Release date: 9/6/11

Age Restrictions: 17+

Genre: First Person Melee/Shooter

Platform: Multi-Platform

Developed by DeepSilver

Synopsis (Taken from [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Welcome to the Island of Banoi!
The player is drawn into the world of Dead Island on the brink of a mysterious epidemic that suddenly, and without warning, breaks out on the fictional island of Banoi. As a guest of the Royal Palms Resort, the player's stay was supposed to be a dream holiday; a luxurious getaway to the beautiful beaches of a tropical paradise. But faced with the reality of a zombie apocalypse, there is only one thing left to do: Survive.

This is Dead Island... a paradise to die for.

Gameplay

Gameplay in Dead Island is very unique. It thrusts you into the Island of Banoi at first with weapons like Paddles, Wooden Planks, Pipes, and Small Kitchen Knives. As you progress, you find better weapons such as machetes, cleavers, and all around more violent, brutal items to add to your arsenal. Although there are firearms like Pistols, Shotguns, and Assault Rifles, first-person melee combat is the deadliest in the game. One of the coolest things in Dead Island is its weapon mod system. As you play you'll discover weapon mods lying around Banoi, or you may receive them as rewards for doing quests and side missions. The mods allow you to basically customize your arsenal any way you feel fit. If you want to make your Machete electrified to zap zombies whenever you please, go for it. IF you want to stick burning rags onto a baseball bat and set zombies ablaze, while smashing their heads in, so be it. The weapon mod possibilities are endless, which supplies enormous replay value for those who want to check out the 20+ weapon mods. There is also a huge skill tree that, when you rank up and gain a skill point, you can use that skill point for a variety of upgrades like Increased health regeneration, more stamina, a curb stomp, and increased damage. Those are just some of the vast upgrades available in Dead Island via the skill tree. While youll be killing undead, your weapons will start to wear down. You can repair them at workbenches, which is wear you can upgrade your weapon out of 4 levels and apply mods to your weapons. Workbenches can be found all around Banoi, and everything from repairs to mods requires certain items and cash, which you can find around the vast island pretty easily. Upon death you will lose some money, so watch your back. Around Banoi, there are also several drive-able vehicles, so don't think you have to walk every where. There's nothing more satisfying then running over zombies in a pickup truck. There are also a few different types of zombies to slay. The walkers are your typical zombie. Slow, sometimes fast, and easy to kill one on one, but very deadly in a horde. The Floater zombie, is a really, really fat zombie similar to Left 4 Dead's boomer, in that he pukes on you. There are smoking zombies that when you get near them, your screen gets all green. There are these Insta-Kill zombies that when you walk by them, the scream for three seconds then explode. If your caught in the blast radius, say goodbye. There are thugs, which are really slow tall zombies that are hard to kill. But if you have 4 people gang up on it with Electrified Machetes and Poisonous Cleavers, its game over. The final enemy i encountered was the Ram, which is an enormous zombie in a straight jacket that runs at you and knocks you down and does extreme damage.

Controls

Controls are very easy to learn. They are fairly similar to the all-so-memorable Call of Duty controls , with a few switches. Nobody should worry, they are easy to learn and master.

Graphics

Graphics are very good in Dead Island. They're not Crysis 2 graphics, but they're pretty. Very pretty. From watching the sun glisten off the water and sand to the extremely detailed zombies, DeepSilver did an excellent job portraying the tropical paradise setting.

Bugs

As much as I love Dead Island, I am required to talk about the bugs that are in the game. One bug was a game crashing bug when i was doing an escort mission. My screen started flipping out and turned random colors and it happened to my buddies too. All we had to do was quit and start it up again, and we were fine. Not a single inventory item lost, no harm done. There is also some Frame Rate Issues that have occurred when I was in HUGE battles with zombies, but it reverted back to normal within 30 seconds. Those are all the bugs i have discovered, which I read on the home page are in the process of being fixed. Very small and minor bugs, but hey, I have to tell you about them.

My Final Score

I give Dead Island a 9/10. An excellent game that i believe no zombie lover, or any action lover should miss. It has a couple bugs, but they are extremely minor and easy to pass by.

The gameplay was great, there were SO many things you could do other than missions or whatever you wanted to do. After the accident you become augmentated, after that happens, you are able to choose from around 40 different body, mind, and much more upgrades. You can also upgrade weapons, and find about 11 different weapons. Maybe more maybe less. For missions, it was perfect. There were around 20 missions all of which a good length. It was the perfect amount because you stay hooked the whole time, and just when you get bored and think its repetitive, the exiting thing happens and its over. For now.

Graphics
Graphics where great in my mind. They didnt look stupid and didnt have dumb box guns like cod or they didnt make them dull. The enemies looked good, not sketchy or bad looking in anyway. I would really change anything about them and really dont have any complaints so ill keep this part short.

Overall Rating
10/10
Great campaign, gameplay, graphics. Everything.

Badly wounded during the attack, you have no choice but to become mechanically augmented and you soon find yourself chasing down leads all over the world, never knowing who you can trust. At a time when scientific advancements are turning athletes, soldiers and spies into super enhanced beings, someone is working very hard to ensure mankind's evolution follows a particular path.

You need to discover where that path lies. Because when all is said and done, the decisions you take, and the choices you make, will be the only things that can change it.(Taken from the game site, for maximum detail)

Story
So basically, you play a man named Adam Jensen aka Jensen. You work for a company named Sarif Industries run by a man named David Sarif. In the beginning of the game you/the company are attacked by a group of extremists. Your gf and her crew/team (that she worked with) and you try to find her, and save her and her team. You encounter MANY enemies throughout your journey and a lot of things you can do. You go to different countries, and an unknown area that will be discovered in the DLC coming next month. Through this cast campaign you will encounter multiple boss levels and a good amount of side missions available to complete receiving achievements for all.You eventually get to a point where you have to make a hard decision which i will not tell, so there will be no spoiler. The campaign is quite long but the perfect amount of missions.
