I am pretty new to logo designs and I made this for a contest on 99 designs for a company called eGurus. I have used some of the advice given to me. I have watermarked it, obviously.

It should be a white background if it is a logo, and the text is quite bland. Try adding a clipping mask or some bevel, and a drop shadow to the text.

Add a drop shadow to the text. The quality is bad. I don't like it at all.

It's just one pattern+Gradient in the back and simple text, but it looks good. Some people would use the same tools and effects as you and it would look horrible but this looks pretty nice. Good job.
