what do u mean, Replace the .bin folder???

amazing preview, endermen ftw. but i sometimes crash when smelting/cooking things in a furnace.

codpro, you have to delete the entire .bin folder in the .minecraft folder, and replace it with the one you downloaded.
controller, tap space bar quickly twice. Lshift to go down, spacebar to go up.
derby, I don't know why it would do that. I guess it's just a bug.

You must be in Creative Mode in order to fly.

Double click the spacebar to fly.

Hold the space bar to fly up, and hold the Left Shift to fly down.

Double click the spacebar again to stop flying.

so this works? no viruses? also can i still make a backup of the old minecraft (1.7.3) just inase it dont work?

Yes, it works, there are no viruses, and If it doesn't work, you can force update, and it will bring you back to 1.7.3.

detailed description for people who dont know how to install{the way i did it}
1. open start, bottom left hand corner of screen and search in the search bar %appdata%
2. you should see the .minecraft folder, click it then go to bin then delete the minecraft.jar file and replace it with the one you downloaded.
