okay my friend gave me a ipod touch 3gs . and ive tryd EVERYTHING ! to get it out of recorvery mode...at first it wouldnt show up on itunes! . and now when i turn it on it just shows the usb plug pointing at itunes...and i try and restore it but it wont .. error code 1611 .....and at first i reset it FROM the ipod itself .. did i mess it up ? please help ... ! please help me . i dont wanna go to the apple store . its too far from me -.- lol !


it is not jailbroken .. the firmware is 4.1 !

Try to have the battery run out...I think that happened with my iPod to. Then restart it

hold home and power button for 30 secs then let go of power button and continue holding home button that should work if not its fooked!

Try putting into DFU mode and connecting to iTunes then recovering.

It will lose all your data though.

Steps:

Step One
Open iTunes and connect the iPhone to your Mac/Pc

Step Two
Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time.

Step Three
After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode.

The iPhone screen will remain black like this:

NOTE***: It may take a few attempts to get your iPhone into DFU mode. Generally, I hold down both buttons then release the Home button just before I think the Apple logo would appear. If you are still holding both buttons down and you see the Apple logo you are holding them down for too long!

Now that should make you able to recover it.

Please reply telling me whether it worked or not.
