steps to follow!
1. try and jailbreak with Greenp0ison

if that dont work
download [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] (download 3gs, 4.21 or lower)
and hold down the home button, while pluggin in your iphone into your computer with itunes opened.

something should popup,
hold shift while clicking recover, and locate the firmware
done
u lose all of the data..

just hold the "power" button on the top, and the menu button for 10 seconds. Let go of the top button and keep holding the menu button for 3 seconds then let go. Also, have it plugged into your computer.

dude u have permanently bricked it (i think) as that what happened to me, i restored it by my ipod touch and then got the error on itunes and mine is permanently bricked, but i dont care about my old ipod touch as i have the iPhone 4 ;)

can someone explain to me how to do the firmware method ???....i have the firmware on my comp but nothing shows up when i go to restore it ..

Download a program called rec boot and run it with the idevice conneted
