I might be getting the game prior to release date, but I'm a bit concerned as to what would happen if I were to play the game before the launch date. I know the servers won't be on so no multiplayer, but what about playing the campaign/spec-ops. If I were to unplug my ethernet cord, would they know?

Depends how early, i saw people live streaming MW2 2-3days before release and nothing happened to them and the servers were online. My buddy also got MW2 delivered 2 days early and nothing happened to him either.

If you get it legit from a shop or it gets delivered early you shouldnt have any problems.

The servers are up prior to the release date due to game-postage (i.e. amazon posting early so you get it in 5 days but it arrives in 3).

You will be one of the 20,000 that get the game early.

Nothing will happen.

idk, i dont think anything bad will happen
my friend got MW2 more than a week before it came out n he played on campaign and spec ops n nothing happened to him

If you play the multiplayer and you have a legit copy of it then you will simply be reset on launch date

Just play offline and nothing will happen.

just turn off your internet/unplug ethernet, or wireless adapter.... they would have no way of knowing then.....

i have played MW2, and Blops 5 days prior to release, and hit prestige. 3 times before the release i was fine
