If you are a member you can receive this classic cape + hood, in a few simple steps in a maximum of about five minutes. The only requirement is you being a member of course, and having a small amount of 50,000 coins to spare.
The option to play RSC (Runescape Classic) was posted on the Runescape homepage for all members September 15th and will be running for 2 weeks. It is the last chance for new members who haven't experienced RSC.
Jagex has explained in they're own words "It will be available as usual to members who have previously logged into Classic during their adventuring career. So, even if you have a passing curiosity in RuneScape Classic, wed advise that you log in so that you can visit again at your leisure." So there is also that benefit even if you don't think you would ever want to play or check it out, you might as well unlock the ability too before it's too late.
All you have to do is log into RSC for a quick second and you will unlock all these benifits.
Firstly go to the homepage and click on "Runescape Classic: The Final Countdown"

It will direct you to a new page (shown below) Click on where it says "Clicking here" It will bring you to the Runescape Classic page where you then hit "Play now" You will login using your current members account details, and will be asked to customize a character (It only takes a few seconds as there's only a few customization options) You will then be brought into the game. From here you can choose to play RSC for fun or if your curious on how it was, or you can simply exit after your character is created and log back into regular Runescape to receive your cape + hood.

[Note: Playing RSC will not affect your current character or account in any way.]
Once you log back into the current Runescape all you have to do is go to Varrock. Head to the shop where you can change your clothes. Talk to the lady sitting down, her name is "Iffie" I belive you then proceed to ask her what she is knitting. She will then offer to sell you the cape and hood for only 50,000 coins.

I would suggest doing this as its somewhat like a holiday item can only be retrieved during this time period and it will be cool to have, plus the option to always log back into RSC if you would like. Take advantage of the offer It's a short process took me less then 5 minutes sorry if the tutorial makes it seem long or confusing.
