Of course it's used more often, that's because tobacco and alcohol is legal. If weed was ever legalized then it would be used much more, but the statistics would stay the same. Alcohol effects you more than weed does. There are more deaths caused by drunk drivers then there are those that smoke weed and drive.

Smoke related diseases? Really? What the hell is smoke related diseases? Lung cancer? Never heard of anyone getting lung cancer from JUST smoking weed.

Weed didnt cause that? Everybody has different lungs, my friend has been smoking for 3 years, and he plays Varsity football, so sit down.
