Yes you can. I dont know if this is posted anywhere but I found it on my own.

P1-searches for a cage match
p2-joins p1 match before it begins or anyone else enters
p1-backs out and invites player two
p2-accepts invite
p1-starts private match SnD joinable not allowed on rust starts game and after p2 spawns in the joins session of a friend or recent player
p2-is then host and ends the match and invites p1 back to lobby. then changes clan tag then goes to find game and highlights 3rd person cage match but does not press A. the game should start on its own.
Done! but if you want double xp:
p1/p2-spawn into the game
p1-bring up xbox guide and highlight p1's gamertag
p2-joins a friends game in session or recent player
VERY IMPORTANT
p1-then must invite p2 back as soon as they leave
p2-must accept the invite right away
if done correctly you should be in SnD with double xp and 6 rounds to play if you do it right you will lose one round but its worth it.
If p1 does not send the invite fast enough or p2 does not accept it fast enough it will end the game. Enjoy
