OK guys, as we are always looking to serve you better and provide the best in products and services, we're making a small change in our consoles. After speaking with several peeps on the site we've come to the conclusion that MOST peeps don't care how loud their console runs as long as it stays cool (heat being the leading cause of the dreaded RROD). Effective immediately, we are enacting the following policy: Every Xenon console that ships will have the thermal setpoints in the SMC configuration reduced by 20C. WTF does that mean?? Well, long story short instead of your console trying to keep it's temps at 80C, it's going to try to keep them at 60C. This means the fans are going to run louder. "Hey, I already got my console and I want that... wtf?!?!?!". That's the beauty of this solution. You can do it yourself, or I can modify your image for you and you just have to reflash. The other really nice thing is if you don't want this, you can easily put it back with 360 Flash Tools. This is a software, not hardware solution. Those of you who upgraded to the Talismoons still benefit greatly from your upgrade, as those fans are way quiter and more efficient, so there will not be near as much difference. Bottom line, the console stays cooler which should keep it running, and you gaming!!
