Exactly. I've found that people are totally willing to buy other headphones that I recommend and all it takes is a bit of guidance.

Yeah i kno i will take into consideration some of the headphones you suggested especially the 25 dollar ones do u kno of anymore with great quality for under 100 because that deal is just amazing.i kno friends that are wanting headphones but dont have hundreds to spend

Ahh... Under 100.

Legendary for rock music: Grado SR80i

Neutral, well balanced, about the best for what you pay: Audio Technica ATH-M50

Comfy, open, moddable without much effort to be 595s: Sennheiser HD 555

For fantastic bass and very fun sound: Sony XB 700 or XB 500. The 500 has more bass, but the 700 has better overall quality.

Thanks i think i will get the sony Xb 500 or 700 because i can get them from best buy and get the accidental warranty

If you're willing to wait, you could hold out for the XB1000s. They're currently only available imported from Japan and are therefore very expensive, but sometime soon they should be released here. I'm not sure exactly when, but they will be. They are also a bit more expensive, but I've heard great things.

ok ill wait ill keep these until then though

They'll probably be a lot more expensive than the others in the XB series, though. I also don't know how long it will be.

Thats cool it gives me time to save my money up

I'm an audiophile. Haha, it's just one of my expensive hobbies! I also just plain old love music and find audio engineering very interesting, too. I can't afford the best, but that doesn't mean I can't be interested in the Audez'e LCD-2s, which cost ~900 bucks. Or even the Stax SR-009, the best headphones in the world at ~$5,000. That's not a title one just throws around, either. Someday...

The real question is why do you need a pair of indestructible headphones?

Because... Uhhhhh... Exactly.

They should be well-built, but the focus should be more on sound good and being comfortable. It's easier to make them indestructible than making them sound good, too. That might be it.
