It would be nice if someone led me through how to mod mw2 to get infections or a mod menu or those infection lobbies in private match lobbies where you go to split screen, and do I need a jailbreak? If so can someone help me out with that also?

Yes, you need a jailbroken PS3.
In order to jailbreak your PS3, you need to be on 3.55 firmware.
